Things you wish you could say

My MIL! She was a dear, sweet, kind woman with one really bad habit. We ended up in the restaurant restroom at the same time and she headed straight for the door. When I asked her if she was going to wash her hands, she replied, "That's just for dirty people." I wanted to tell her, "If you don't wash your hands after using the bathroom, you ARE the dirty people," but didn't. Back at the table, I could no longer eat from the family-sized basket of fries I'd bought ... because she was using her fingers to pluck them out as she ate. EEEEeeewww!
Idda called her out, in front of everyone at the table. That's gross, so gross

As a soon-to-be nurse, I know a lot of the people in the system care about their patients. The system, not so much.
During my most recent stay, the nursing staff was the highlight of my experience. They told my wife I could stay as long as I wanted because I was polite and didn't treat them like garbage. That made me both happy and sad.
