Things your hometown is famous for . . . .

Um . . . well, where I went to high school the town boasts of having had the world's largest pecan. They have a hideous giant statue of a pecan in the town square. My brother thought it was a statue of fecal matter the first time he saw it.
Also, I don't know if it's true anymore, but at the time I was in high school we were the home of the largest teen pregnancy rate in the United States.
I am so happy I escaped that place.

Well I was born and raised in Timmins Ontario...went to highschool with Shania Twain. I must admit I didn't hang out with her though, I was friends with her sister:>) And my sister dated Shania's brother.

I am right down 58 from you in SoBo. I've been to one race in my 39 years here. I've met Jeff & Ward. I like Ward.

Do y'all make beef stew or Brunswick stew?

And Carolina Chick-I love that wine! I've spent many an evening sitting at the computer plinking away while sipping!

Town jail...Floyd's Barber Shop, Snappy Lunch, Wally's Service Station...we are Mayberry. Home of Andy Griffith.
Also, the world's largest granite quarry and the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway nearby.

Lancaster SC, original settlers were scot-irish from the Lancaster PA settlers. Home of the Cherokee, Catawba, and Waxhaw indians. The Red Rose City taken from the House Of Lancaster tradtional Coat of Arms. William R Davie founder of UNC. Revoltionary War Era two seperate Massacre's Buford and Hanging Rock. Our jail and Courthouse where designed by Robert Mills who studied under Thomas Jefferson and later built Monticello.

What we are most famous for is the Springs Mills, Col. leroy Springs built the first million dollar mill in lancaster sc in 1895 and completed it in 1901. Now there are just empty plots of land and the mill my grandparents worked at is leveled. All the remaining mills are closed or are being closed. It was wonderful for the econmy then but it is horrible now.

We have a few famouse football player and baseball player but I can only remeber 1's name GG Harris.

I live outside a little town in Missouri. There are only 499 people here and the only store is a little gas station. There was a skirmish on our land during the Civil War and a Confederate soldier is buried in our back 40.
