Yukon Oklahoma...famous for "Yukon's Best Flour" flour mill--back in the day.
Garth Brooks home town. We also have Cross, Canadian, Ragweed (red dirt band) connections. We also have the infamous Czech festival in October. Grady the cow story happened in Yukon too.

Well, my town used to be called Cathead. Apparently back in the day the farmers got sick of all the barn cats and started chopping their heads off and they'd take the heads and put them on the fence posts... I was told that was for something like keeping coon/possum or some other predator away from the house and barn. Beats me. We also had some coal mines here. I'm 20min away from where the new Washington DC would've been had the south won the war. It's called Leetonia. The reasoning behind this place (waaaaaaay out in the woods further than us) was there were 7 different railroads that converged there, and was close to the near-by Galeton which was a small city back then. I got lost of stories about this place, but that should suffice for now

I grew up in a small town and when a fire truck or ambulance siren was heard everyone jumped in their vechicle and ran because you knew the person well. When I got married we moved to Little Rock where sirens are going off all the time. I would keep waking my dh up to tell him I hear a siren. Bless his heart, he a good person, he would pat me and say okay honey.
