Think I got a fake paypal email...........what do I do?

I get these paypal spams all the time. I also get ebay spams all the time. I know the spam isn't coming from either paypal or ebay but it sure does make me wish I'd never used either; if I hadn't I wouldn't be dealing with so much spam. Both scams are very tricky and I am sure many people far for the scams.

Absolutely DO NOT send them any information...it is a phishing site.

It IS a phishing site, trust me. I've been there. I still have the info from when my accounts were hacked. You can call Pay Pal @ 402-935-2050 to report the fake emails and hacks, and any eBay email you get that seems "off" should be forwarded to spoof at ebay.com.

My mom used to sell a ton of stuff on e-bay. She got one of those e-mails and.. well, not only did she click the link, but the page that came up looked authentic so she entered her info. Became a huge mess, since now whoever had access to all of her stuff.

I'm with everyone else. Report it.

Foward the actual false email to [email protected] !!!!! They will send you a real email stating that it was not sent by them and if you did log in from the false email, Change YOUR Password Immediately!!!!! But do it from a new browser that you type in the address for paypal, not from a link! Paypal will refer to you by name, these fake ones will refer to you by your email name or Dear Paypal User. Hope this helps!

I always delete those emails....
I had someone take over my ebay account a few years ago - and I had NEVER replied to one of those scam emails - dont' know how they did it, but thank GOODNESS someone emailed me asking about some gym equipment I was 'selling" with a link to the item!

It got cleared up pretty quick and I got my account back - but that made me VERY nervous!

Ya, didnt think it was right. Ill log into Paypal and send it to them.
Thanks everyone....Oh and no, I didnt click on anything!

Shannon
