Recently a poster asked about her hen dieing from sour crop. I purchase "Practical Poulty" at TSC and there was an article that mentioned that a hen was thought to have sour crop. After having treated her for sour crop xrays revealed she had swallowed a 1 inch wood screw. Surgery was performed and she survived. My point is this. Perhaps when there is a problem with a hen or roo the problem may be something unorthdox such as having eaten something they shouldn't. I suppose this is the risk taken when free ranging our chickens. Just thought you might like to know.
