Well My order of chicks is going to be here on the 25th (3 and a half weeks late unfortunately:() and we are scheduled to go on holiday on July 4 for 6 days and to make matters worse the person we had arrangements to watch the chicks cant do it now! They will only be at most 2 weeks old when we leave them Do you think If I put them in my small temporary coop with a light and 2 waterers(4 liters total) and 2 auto gravity feeders that they will be alright ? the coop is predator proof except maybe for a snake which we dont have very many? Hate to have to leave but holiday plans are reserved already? What to do what to do?????

I wouldn't.

I would hire and train someone to be with them, preferably someone with experience.. Try contacting 4-H groups, an avian vets office.......

Sorry they arrived late - something you couldn't have anticipated....

 Oh no, what a mess up!!!

Anything could happen while you're gone, power out, waterers fall over or chicks fall in! For that long - 6 days, I wouldn't leave them alone.

Place an ad on Craigslist or something if need be, to find someone to help take care of them.

Sorry , BUT I have a hard time going 2 blocks to walmart and leave my chickens .

Anything can happen to babies

I went outside to feed and water mine one saturday morning , and I needed to use the bathroom , rushed inside , and was only gone maybe 10 minutes , so did not bother to lock the cages and I came back and neighbor boys had already stolen 6 of my chicks .

I got all but 1 back , and I had 2 witness's that seen them in the yard , nad I managed to get them to escort me to their home . POLICE arrested the oldest .

I know this is NOT what you needed to hear , but being honest as we all are in here . NO , I would NOT leave baby chicks for 6 days
BUT , things unexpected can happen that quick .

Gosh, you might even find someone from BYC close enough that you could drive the chicks to them to take care of for those 6 days......
Check the Where are you forum and post something.....

Good Luck!

As soon as I got chicks I marched over to my chicken-owning neighbors' house & offered to swap chicken-sitting duties. They jumped on my offer because they're going out of town in July. I'll call in the favor the next time I have a vacation or weekend away.

They also loaned us a chick feeder & waterer... arean't good neighbors awesome?!?

I'm not anywhere near you, but I really wish I could help. You should place an ad in your local newspaper, and stuff like that. Got any family not going on vacation???? *JUST DON"T LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!!*

Gosh....too bad you are so far away, I totally feel for you here. I use to stress about what I was going to do until we found one to look after our own....It is frustrating.... but with chicks that small, really anything can happen and usually everything does!

If it were overnight I'd do it ....but for 6 days....

That is a LONG time to leave baby chciks without someone checking on them. In that time they are bound to need assistance somewhere.... food, water etc....

Try a neighbors child, maybe they'd like to make a couple bucks checking in on some chicks over the six days.... $$$ always a big motivator for teens....

I guess for anyone in that case if you were not able to find a helping hand.....
GOOD Luck!!!
