Hi, I am very new to this. I am hoping to get some chicks, haven't decided which kind or how many yet. I just found out last week that I can have chickens in our yard, as long as there's no roosters.

I have some questions but I don't know if this is the place to post them or not?
 
Ok, thanks! I'll be doing suburban farming & have neighbors very close by. Is there any way to keep the chickens in my yard w/ out putting up a fence??? Some one had mentioned something about rooster pheromones in the yard?? Would that keep them in? I would also need to keep them out of the road.
One more question....can I mix bantams w/ regular sized chickens??? or would the banties get picked on bcuz they are smaller???

Also, I raise bantams with standard and they are fine together.
