I'm thinking about getting some quail. I'm fairly clueless on them at this point, but I have a healthy flock of chickens, and I'm kind of looking to expand. I'm not too interested in turkeys or ducks at the moment, and my husband says NO GUINEAS OR PEAFOWL!
Besides the obvious fact that quail are adorable and small, what are their benefits?
I'm assuming because they're smaller that they require less room...
Are they best kept outdoors or indoors?
I've heard they are very temperature sensitive... anyone know how VA weather would do?
Are quail like chickens, in that only one male should be kept in with females?
What is the space requirement for each individual quail? and I'm assuming they like to be in a flock, as do chickens?
-thanks for any help you can offer!
