thinking about turkeys

I might just try it. I know my store will be selling them soon, I just might mix a couple of chicks w/turkeys.

One last question, I am in the country, are there any laws out there about turkeys? I know we can have chickens, and roos, it just has to be so many feet away from the property. I never asked around here because I didn't want anyone looking around, I just built the coop and that was it. Later the building inspector came out and was eyeing the coop. But I have it on cynder blocks with patio brick under it so it isn't taxable. (he was out for something else) I know my closest neighbor wouldn't care, she used to live on a farm.

I just don't know how to find out without the town really knowing what I am up to.

I never let my kids alone any way with the animals, I just don't want the kids to be doing their own thing in the yard and the turkey just decides to go after the kids. A couple of my roos are that way, I never let them free range when my kids are out. Just want to see if the turkey toms were like the roos. I actually had a roo go after my oldest and he didn't do a darn thing. Now he won't go any where near the coop. Loves the babies, but that is it. btw the roo is gone! lol

thanks again every one!!!!!!
