Thinking of Getting a Royal Palm, Any tips? help on locating one or two,

We have a royal palm and blue slate cross pair, a tom and hen, they are lovely birds. They free range with the chickens all day, our hen seems to love our Cinnamon Queen rooster so much that she picks on him, and him her. I have not had any issues with they getting sick as of yet, but again I haven't had them very long as I am just getting into raising turkeys. One thing I have learned with all of our poultry is that you need to have 2-3 of them because they seem to pair up even if they stick in 1 big group they will stay in smaller groups that just happen to stay near each other. So If you do get some please get 2-3, so that they have company.

I ll have to research a bit, On illness, what are the issues there? I have heard of Blackhead just not sure it is or how they can get it.

As far as I can remember if you have the turkey pouts in with the chickens they are at a higher risk of getting the blackhead disease, it's something with the chicken poo, honestly we got ours at about butcher weight, and tried to keep them separated, but the pig wanted them free, so he freed them like he does everything in a cage or pen. They are doing good with them but they are older, this spring when we hatch out eggs they will be separated into a separate brooder and pen than the chicks. It seems smarter to keep them apart to cut down the risk when their smaller and more susceptible.
