Was thinking about starting selling chicks and eggs as a side business, really more of a hobby than anything. I live in Oregon and I am completely ignorant as to what I have to do license wise to get started. Like I said this will be more of a hobby so I'm not expecting to make oodles of money or any money at all but I also want it to be legit as far as legalities go. Anybody know what I'd be in for?

I don't know but a good place to start would be your state Wild Life/Animal agency to see what licenses, permits, inspections and fees they require. Then there would be any state, county and city permits and inspections and fees. It would not be cheap I am sure and given the cost of just maintaining a flock of 60+ birds I am thinking you are right...you probably will not make any money and may actually end up at a loss. Also, given the current avian flu outbreak you could lose not only your shirt but also your flock.
