The eggs I got from you are fertile :)

I endured the bites and candled Penelope's eggs tonight... Poor baby is risking her life for nothing; apparently Mr. Jake's enthusiasm isn't enough to make up for his clumsiness. The ten in the 'bator are clears, as are the six she's setting on. Now what? She is in a vulnerable area & won't move, and setting on infertile eggs. Suggestions, please?!?

Sorry the eggs are not developing. The only experience I have is when moving a chicken hen and her eggs to a safer location, she quit the eggs and the new nest.

Mama goose finally got off the nest when I was around. That little stinker had been stealing duck eggs and adding them to her clutch. Thank goodness I had marked the original. I pulled the new and unfortunately one turkey egg was crushed and stuck to another. I pulled those so she is sitting on 6 duck and 6 turkey as well as one of hers which should be infertile because I only have the one goose. I'm still narrowing down which 45 chicken eggs to set tomorrow. I'm thinking Silkie, Sizzle, d'Uccle, D'anver, Polish, and EE. I have a order for EE, Silkie and Polish. I really want to see what I get out of the Silkie/Sizzle house. I have 2 blue roos, 2 splash pullets, 1 black frizzle pullet, and a beautiful Sizzle pullet.
400

Slip her some chicken or duck eggs instead. I have rainbow layers & polish mixes if you need some cheap eggs.

I candled the first four duck eggs last night and saw heartbeats in all 4 but one of the embryos is much smaller then the other three. That happened with one of my Easter HAL eggs and not I think it's a blood ring...
