~*Third Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatch-Athon*~ all poultry welcome!

:he :he :he

The seller just got back to me....

The eggs that I paid for on the 8th, were shipped out TODAY!

Sigh

As long as they are newest eggs or stored properly, they should be ok. Although the staggered hatch might not be what you wanted.

At this point I was scared to ask how old the eggs are... I will see when they show up.

I am doing my first shipped egg incubation, and my first staggered hatch (have incubated before).

The first eggs to go in were shipped Dominiques, then a day later (so no difference really) I put in a bunch of rose comb leghorns, dark browns and a few white, but all rose comb. The ones shipped TODAY are bantam Wyandottes, partridge color. Then, because I am insane, and clearly addicted, I just bid on, and will win in 40 minutes, another set of Bantam Wyandotte eggs, but these are blue laced red.

So, maybe both bantam eggs will show up close to the same time, and then I will have just two hatches. Not so bad really....it is just that I was so sure that those eggs were already shipped.... Disappointing.

I was expecting eggs to be delivered last week.. monday.. no eggs from this person.. same every day as the week progressed.. so on Saturday I asked them again for a tracking number since the eggs hadn't arrived.. come to find out they didn't have a tracking number for me because they sent the eggs PARCEL POST...............  :th

she was supposed to reship new eggs today... still no word on a tracking number.. I'm wondering if they will come pony express.... :he

That is SO MUCH worse than my story! :th

You are going to get month old eggs!

I also had a seller report a tracking number but then it never got scanned not even as being picked up or accepted... Any ideas? I did get another shipment sent the next day but the first the seller knew the colors of the hens. But not on these.

do you know for certain that they actually shipped them?..

i had a seller do that to me.. she printed off the shipping label with postage... then gave her teenage son the box of eggs with the instructions to take them to the post office..

he "forgot" and they rode around on the back seat of his car for weeks.....
this was during the heat of the summer.. july or august of last year

he kept wondering what stunk in his car..... and what the popping sound was...

(his mom emailed me a while later letting me know they had found the missing box of eggs)...

The seeker says he left them were he always leaves them for the mailman to pick up and they were gone when he got home

well.. depending on where that is.. they could be anywhere...

either just not scanned by the post office.. or "adopted" by someone who saw a box and hoped it was something of value (to them)...

if you know what day of the week they set them out for the mail.. and their shipping zip code you can go on USPS and do a fake priority package to get a quote..
so if they were mailed on Friday.. and you have the zip... set it up for this friday or next friday (since Easter may figure into things).. use a one rate box since the price isn't of concern .. and it will give you an estimated delivery date.. that will give you an idea of which day of the week they should arrive if the USPS did actually pick up the box..

if they haven't arrived by then.. give it an extra day or two.. then consider them to be lost if they still haven't shown up

It's been 2 weeks and nothing. The replacement came in 2 days.

Oh, yes - just so I can be 'official' - I set 28 eggs in the Brinsea today. I know there's15 BO's. two Rangers, at least one WR, at least two BR, a couple of BR/RIR and at least one DC. Might be a couple of BR/DC's... I can't recall when they went back to the communal henpartment. (Can ya guess what my BR roo did last week?) Guess I will know when they hatch, LOL. I just stuck everything that was going to hit eight days before the next hatch into it.- and fortunately they fit.
