Happy Yule little babies. I didn't even plan it. They were a day late! And with all the cold weather we have been having I wasn't sure how these eggs would be. BUT they are GREAT!

Now I cant wait for my eggs that a very nice BYC member sent me hatch!!

I think I need a better brooder method. Maybe if I was a good girl St Nick will bring me one of those nice stand up ones with shelves!! (but who am I kidding LMAO)

I hear that small fish tanks ( of X-Large depending on the amount of chicks you have ) work good.
Can't wait for pictures of your babies!

Well, I hate to pot shot things from 2 pics, but I see little wrong. Your hot spot may be a little hot, but other than that, you are 5X5.
I see chicks eating, poo everywhere, chicks drinking...no piling, and a very small ALPHA chick that most likely loves to sleep in the cap full of feed. Buy your totes where ever, dial your hot spot down a bit, but otherwise....looks like coturnix chick brooder heaven to me.

But...what do I know?

Its not that hot of a bulb, temp inside middle of the brooder reads 96.2 (we keep our house cold) it was a quick picture before we changed them for the 10th time that day they are quite the poopers. The food is on the opposite side of the bulb. They drink great. I probably didn't need to add the beads to the water but do anyway cause it gives me piece of mind. The brooder is actually 1ft x 16". with great ventilation. Thanks for the tips.
