This bothers me...

That ad is definitely misleading. Someone is going to buy those geese and then end up having to re-home them because of the racket. I had heard geese could be loud, but when Chinese and Africans start braying....Holy cow, are they loud! You can't fully appreciate it unless you've been around them. I am being driven out of my side yard by my geese. The trumpeting can be heard literally a mile away.

My chinese can really put up a racket. I'm very happy I only have one of her.

I purchased a pair baby africans this summer, turns out they are China geese.

I am not sure what to do with them. The gander is so watchful, he is like a guard dog. But I noticed he is gaggle leader, he herds the others(Sebs & Poms) and keep them moving when I am out with them. I suspect he is going to be something else to deal with when breeding hormones kick in...

My geese are fairly quiet too unless they are frightened. They also eat worms, bugs, etc... They have even killed mice in the barn.....

we have a beautiful white chinese goose, and she is noisy as hell. But aren't all geese??

this is her new place to lay eggs. no male so they are not fertile. but my dog keeps finding them and eating them.

Are you kidding? All geese are loud, but Chinese geese are LOUD. They are also primarily herbivores, so the claim about the slug eating is stretching the truth a bit. Someone wants to sell some geese and is sugar-coating the truth to get rid of them.
