this chick (allegedly a maran) is 5 weeks old- not growing

Awwe I'm so sorry to hear about your baby. .:( I was hoping for better news. .. sometimes they're is nothing we can do and nature wins out. I know I lost three myself. ..:(
 
I lost SIX chicks. I have 6 left, and have 7 now (2 of which I think are roos).

I made some mistakes. If i could go back and do it all again:

-I would have CORID on hand and not had to wait for it to be shipped :(
-I would not have gotten more little ones after the cocci killed some of my others. when i eventually integrated them a couple were pecked to death! SO SAD
-I might have just found a broody hen to raise the babies, hand raising just stressed me out
 
I had one in my very first batch of chicks that was tiny and had scraggly feathers like in the pictures. We almost lost her the first night we had her...managed to bring her back only for one of my dogs to get her a few weeks later. I considered it to be natural selection since I felt she may have been sick.
