This chick had feathered feet... What am I??

Those chicks are pretty small to be out with those hens. I'd be worried they may hurt them.
 
Thank you for your concern. That was he first time they'd been out with the other hens. Today is the second. I let them out because the mother hen wants to be out and she is teaching them. I only let them out while I supervise so I think the safeties are in place. Mom gives the other curious hens 'what for' if they get too close.
 
These were hatched in the coop with the other hens. I separated the two groups so they were together yet separate. You should have seen the over hens on hatch day -they were fascinated and knew something was up. They've seen the chicks grow over the last week and been 'exposed' 24/7 so this is all part of the acclimation period. I let the mother hen take the lead as she knows what needs to be taught during this bond period. I want to honour the nature of things before she disconnects.
 
If they are with their mother that is different. She can help protect them. I just know how mean those old hens can be. :(
