This chicken is not dead does not have torticollis

(Before anyone worries - she's fine when awake, fine when roosting, usually fine when sleeping on the ground. Giving E & B vitamins plus some egg for a week on the basis that it's unlikely to do damage if not needed has made no difference. She just sometimes does an excellent impression of my mum falling asleep in front of the TV )

Poor baby, but funny analogy.

She's due a haircut - maybe she won't do it any more without the weight of all those feathers and the food and other nonsense she manages to get stuck in them.

Polish are adorable, ridiculous little featherdusters. My bird’s ‘hats’ grow almost as soon as I cut them. I hope they grow out of the ‘endless regenerating puff’ thing…

She's due a haircut - maybe she won't do it any more without the weight of all those feathers and the food and other nonsense she manages to get stuck in them.

Poor Mr P has been literally scalped (for almost two yrs now) and he still sleeps “face plant” on the ledge - poor baby!

He started moulting and the ladies picked his pin feathers causing copious ants of blood to coat his head and neck makimg them peck at him even more!

Then his some Bert gave him a thrashing and he was pecked unmercifully losing most of his head feathers.

I have been resigned to his not growing his lovely coiffe back again, but now he is moulting again and his head feathers are growing back!

As such he is locked away from those that would pick him, until he is fully feathered.

Poor old man!
