This Coop is Turning into a Behemoth! **UPDATED pics on pg7**

It looks like you guys are having a ton of fun in your garden. I see a raised bed too! Good for you both! Everything looks beautiful.

Very nice work

Couple suggestions:

Overbuild a flat roof off the coop on each side for winter snow (maybe 4') so the birds can go out in the winter

or add a floor access to under the coop. The flat roof would allow you to simply wire the rest with 2x4 wire which the snow will not build up on and sliding snow from the roof pitch won't teardown or bury the chickens doors.

Cover the lower run wire with hardware cloth to stop reach-thrus by the coon.

Be sure to surround the whole run with skirting (about 18") to stop the coyotes and fox from digging under.

Hang a couple roost poles thru the wire holes (saplings or branches) outside in the runs for sunning perches and a place to get up out of the spring mud and puddles

Make sure the latches are coonproof, the little devils have thumbs!

Keep the pictures coming

Really want to see how it comes out

Where does a chicken coop end and a chicken house start. Some of these structures built for chickens pass the point of just housing chickens. Wow, I won't show any pictures of my little dinghy. No sir. I'm a retired ironworker on a pension and SS. Can't afford these summer homes for chickens. I'll just have to stick with coops.

My kind of man (build something more grandiose than originally planned) !! Love the coop, the runs, and the nice place where you can enjoy the chickens. You did a fantastic job!!
