This coop?

Pics
This was the first 2 pens we built. The boxes against the back wall of my shop are what they sleep in. It's basically a box with a roost bar. The whole space is divided down the middle with chicken wire at the bottom, basic netting up high, for 2 different breeds on either side. I have all bantams, but the basic design is pretty simple. I think it would be perfect for Florida!
(I have since made minor adjustments, like making the doors full height. Was a pain to duck under) I've since quadrupled the design, with plans for 2 more this summer.

I am mechanically impaired. I have tried to build things, but it drives my DH crazy to watch me because I don't do it like he does, and he is and experienced builder. So, I start and he usually finishes. He says it's easier for him to do it right away than to fix what I have tried to make. :D (Works for me. When I get tired of waiting for help, I just start rummaging through his tools...)
Good plan! :thumbsup

How much did it cost you to make?

How is the pen attached to the building? Or what is supporting it?

Yes, taller door for sure!!
..and 1/2" HC instead of chicken wire @WVduckchick ?
How big is that 'sleeping box'?
No nests?

Agrees, it could be a great FL enclosure.

And the 8ft on the bottom will change to ten feet.
I believe that 5 foot wide and 10 foot long and 5 foot high is OK for three hens as a coop. Mine is about that and they have plenty of roost room and three nesting boxes, but of course they all use the same one. I think you said you will have a run also? That makes having the house form one side a huge cost saving advantage. Make sure the food, nesting boxes and water are protected from poop. If your roost is over those, then you must make a sloped roof to cover them. Chickens poop at night when they are on the roost. You will need a TON of ventilation because it gets hot there (you know that). Look at the inside of my coop and ignore the parts about the greenhouse.

The roof is metal, so that was a bit expensive, I really don't remember how much the materials were, I'm sorry. I'll ask my husband when he gets home.

Joist hangers.

The whole thing is inside my fenced yard, which has electric wire on it, and I have dogs. I'm not totally predator secure, but aerial predators are more issue for my area, so I went for the metal roof.
The sleeping box in each pen is about 8' long x 3' deep x 3' tall. Remember I have bantams. It's probably not "up to code", but works for my groups. The top is hinged for opening and cleaning.
The nest boxes stick out from each box, the girls enter from inside.

A few more pics for more perspective, including some of the add-ons since that first pic. The boat in the ground is the Call ducks pool. lol

Yes, remembered the bantam part......only thing I wonder about is ventilation in the roost boxes, would think it gets very hot there, tho I keep forgetting how far north WV really is.
Very cool set up!
Great pics, thanks, clever putting them in a spoiler.

I admit I need some ventilation work. I've added some wire-covered slots that aren't pictured, high on the front and ends of the boxes and the pop doors stay open, but this winter has been much worse on combs. The lids on the boxes open from the top, so I prop them open in the summer. See the 4th pic. But I do need some help in that area. Our winds are unpredictable and come from any direction, so I argue with myself about what to do. I actually think i need to increase the height of the boxes.

Anyway, my apologies to the OP for the detour. I was trying to show an option of a fairly basic setup that looked like it could work in her space. :)
