This could get controversial: Trueblood VS Twilight

I guess I'm the only one who is very creeped out by the whole Twilight series. I have a teenage daughter, and I dont want her reading the books, nor seeing the movies. Not to sound overly paranoid, but, I have a real issue with the fact that the lead character is supposedly over 100 years old and is so 'in love' with a teenager. Its like a sub-concious pedophile thing to me. Yeah, he looks young, but the truth (as far as we can call fiction 'truth' for the sake of the story line) is that the guy is waaaaaaaayy older than the girl. Just too weird for my tastes and I dont care for subliminal messages that say an older guy is just great for preying on a young girl.
Yeah, I know it makes me sound weird and paranoid, but thats my take on that story.

Now Trueblood...I think its funny and ok in small doses. I have watched all the shows, but I havent read the books.

And for those of you who mentioned Sookies teeth--- I love the little space in her teeth, I have one just like it and I refuse to have it changed or "fixed"! Its part of who we are and seperates us from all the rest of the folks out there whose teeth have no 'personality'

That is TOO funny... my MIL and SIL went ApePoo over Twilight... books AND movies... seriously, ordering tix in advance and getting to the theatre HOURS early... oh and blowing off the promise of babysitting for a special occasion for us... whoops... to see a stinking movie... and yes, these are the same folks who pitched a fit over HP and Dark Materials without picking up a single on of the actual books. This stuff is entertainment... it's not food, shelter, water... it is NOT a need, but a want... don't understand all the bruhaha.

I don't care for either and I think twlight is stupiid. My teenage daughters like it though. Not the my son or dh. I don't like vampire movies things of this sort to begin with though.

All the Twilight "ga-ga" reminds me of when I was a kid and Dark Shadows was on. Haven't read it, but everything I've heard or reviews I read makes it sound quite "tweeny," and I LIKE lots of young adult literature. There are too many other things in my life that fit my interests better to take my time reading or watching a series that doesn't draw my interest. I don't have anything against the series (although Suzettex5 makes a good point to consider).

I vote for Anne Rice over both of them.

YES, yes, yes! I agree!
Just for curiosity sake... Who has read Ann Rice ? I think we have all her books here, (except someone said she wrote 'erotica' as well but I've never been driven to find or read any of it.
Mayfair Witches is a far better story to me, Mayfair Witches but the last of the Blackwell books left me uninspired.
