I know I may have been guilty of saying something that turned out to be incorrect, but for the most part I try to stick to only what I know and tag people if I'm tagged on some thread I have no business being tagged on.

I'm getting tired of people that know their birds are needing changes in lifestyle (selling birds to get to a reasonable amount or using actual medicine not the homeopathic stuff that's become popular, or even just culling a bird that likely isn't going to get better). A lot of people seem to think it's cruel to cull a sick bird or not take it to the vet, when it just isn't always the case.

I agree. I am not saying a mistake in an answer is bad, but being wrong over and over again is bad. Like, when that happens, someone needs to do research. You seem pretty knowledgeable overall. I’m more talking about people who make the same mistake over and over.

And I am too. People shouldn’t come and ask for help and then not listen.

I agree, I must admit, there are some threads where I have answered a question for someone, then did not follow up when they got hijacked by someone other than the OP and became more like a chat thread. Must not be a very good impression, especially for new members.

I agree. I think we scare them off.

I think having chatter threads is fine. But we need it to stay in the designated forum and thread.

Also, this might be more ranty and I'll delete if wanted, but I'm getting sick and tired of how most threads are closed now because someone doesn't like the topic and complains. I was in a great chat thread and people who had no business being there complained and got it shut down nor even 2 days later. And then when a thread was made asking for clarification about why it was closed and what part we weren't supposed to make again (the topic or a particular comment that may have been offensive), it was deleted without an answer

I totally agree. Just like @JacinLarkwell said, I get some information wrong, but for the most part I stick to what I know, or tag someone. I know that I am close to a kid, but I am on here to learn and help if I can. I don’t think I’ve participated in a “chat” thread, and although nothings wrong with that, it crowds the threads that need people’s help.

I feel as though it’s just kids on here. There’s all these people making trouble, clogging up informational threads, or trying to answer things they don’t understand. I realize that it’s not fair to say it’s all kids that are doing this, but it really doesn’t feel like the same BYC. I barely post in public anymore because it’s not the same smart forum filled with knowledgeable members anymore- it’s like a birthday party.
I understand that it’s fun to talk, but keep the chat in the chat threads or PMs - and keep it appropriate.
I’m just tired of it.
