well their have always been sociopaths...like you said Lizzie Bordan..etc...but..i DO think that it is more prevelant now...because if one of these sociopaths get ahold of a violent game.. or sexual videos..whatever....it DOES help feed their fantasies...

Personally I think it is all relative. The more people on earth the more crazy people on earth. You can look back through history and there are just as many nutjobs that have their story recorded as there are now.

..

Yes, and this is why we NEED a return to actual parenting. Too many kids grow up in households where they raise themselves. I am willing to bet this kid's parents already KNEW he had problems but didn't want to admit it to the point of seeking help. There is no way you go from being perfectly normal to killing your parents overnight.

you got it!...

Yeah... I'd agree with this.

Further more, with a greater number of people leading to a greater number of "nutjobs", instead of locking them away, medicating them, exiling them, jailing them, removing them from the breeding population, or what ever past culture used to do to people who were not "normal" or were "off" acording to current standards, we now diagnose people with issues. Those lead to an increase in the number of people who have problems.

However... Parents need to get to parenting again.

I agree with what your saying. The father could have taken the game back to the store or if he was really against this he would have had his picture placed on the back wall and said "to not sell rated M games to this kid".

Thank you all for being civil in this thread

You know, when I was a kid things were different. MUCH different.

My brother and I used to sneak to the living room when our parents were asleep and watch these horrible low budget horror filsm and these martial arts films. Everyone died. Usually it was pretty brutal with lots of screaming and blood. I LOVED them. I still list Horror as my favorite type of book or movie. I am a vampire fanatic. I started writing Horror stories when I was a kid until my mom found them and she freaked out! Put a stop to that real quick.

Anyway, I have never killed anything except flies (can't handle those). I even relocate spiders. Can't raise meat chickens because I just can't kill them myself and certainly wouldn't kill my parents.

I don't really know what my point was except that you just can't make a sane person crazy with this stuff and you can't make a crazy person sane by taking it away.

I have a question. What is more violent? A video game or a chicken getting whacked?

I vote a chicken getting whacked. A video game is just that, a game, and to a sane person nothing is actually getting killed. With a chicken no matter how you look at it, it is real death, real blood......
