This is a picture of Moose's parents. What breed are they?

Hello. As some of you know, I had 3 eggs hatch last week from the same farm. I had 1 Pekin duck(Levi), 1 Embden(LucyLou) and 1 that I wasn't sure of the breed as I was told I was only getting Pekin and Embden.

This is Moose...



I went to the farm in which the eggs came from to see if I could find out his breed. There were Tons of Pekin and Embden running around, then there were these 2, all by themselves, and they were the only ones of this breed on the farm.

What breed of goose is this and BTW, they were not very friendly! Not like my little Moose that insists on sleeping on my shoulder!

African Geese?!?!?!?!

I have two females that look exactly like your "moose" and they are african geese. Do you have better pics of the geese on that farm up close?

Moose does resemble your African Females, however, he has more dark around his face and body. That was as close as I could get to those geese, mean and BIG!!! The male had a black bill and the female was more orange.

I definitely think moose is an african gosling!!!! PS. I also have an embden gosling!

The male did, and he had a brown stripe down his neck, but the famale was smaller and had an orange bill.

Hmmmmm... I wonder if the female was a white african goose. Those generally have an orange bill.

I have no clue! I was totally shocked when it hatched looking so different from my Embden as this breed was never mentioned to me. I can tell you this though, Moose's egg was bigger than all the Embden eggs!
