Last year I had my pretty solar lights stolen from my front yard. Some college student must have them hanging in their dorm room. I have to say it's rare that I've had things taken, & my neighborhood is right by the University. We have people coming and going all day and sometimes late at night. And, except for my lights, nothing has disappeared yet. Also, yesterday my wallet somehow fell out of my purse at the fabric store. It took me until after they were closed to discover it was gone. I canceled my debit cards and imagined my wallet forlorn in a gutter, picked up by some disreputable person. Well, this morning I stopped by the fabric store and sure enough someone had turned it in. The lovely person and employees even left the $200 in cash that was in it (the week's grocery money).
I think most people are perfectly honest, but those few that aren't sure do make a nuisance of themselves. I mean, a doggy doo rake? Really? that is ridiculous!
