This is probably a crazy question but....

They don't HAVE to be but people do it because it's hard for roos to inseminate naturally with all that but fluff. Another thing you can do is Cut back that but fluff, but then you couldn't show it.
 
okay...how do you do this or where can I go to find out
 
ugh, the bantams, especially the big Poofy SQ smooth feathered ones don't breed well naturally. So this method is recommended....
