i got it from a feed store not a breeder.

I believe that was the point - take him back to the feed store and get your money, then buy from a breeder - which would be more reputable as a breed and sex identifier.

You could wait a few more weeks and post new pictures and see what people say the picture I posted was of my girl charlie I got her because I thought she was a rooster was I wrong she laid a pretty blue egg. You know its an EE so just wait and see if it turns out to be a rooster you could see if there is someone close to you that would want a rooster or place it on CL. Be careful when it comes to feed stores they don't always know what they are talking about.

Give him/her another few weeks. You never know. I would guess roo as well, but EEs are tricky. You just never know. If it turns out to be a boy, it will be easier to find him a new home when he is bigger and closer to maturity. Plus it gives you a fw more weeks with your favorite.

Is there a homeowners code that says no roosters or a city rule? How close are you to your neighbors? Have you talked to them about having a rooster? Some people are highly offended by the crowing. Others are okay with it. Explore your options before you lose hope.

Either way, your baby is sweet.

(The only way to be guaranteed a true ameraucana is to buy from a breeder. TSC, hatcheries and whatnot generally are selling Easter Eggers. There is a distinction and breeders tend to get cranky about it. I raise both and love having both running around the yard. EEs are always interesting chickens.

sadly portland oregon banned roosters and you need a permit to have more than 3 hens. i'll give her a few weeks and if she's a roo i'll find her a home that hopefully wont kill her/him

EE roo... same exactly coloring of the one I had to rehome last week for the same issue. Sorry! Mine was my favorite, too... super sweet and beautiful.

Okay well that sucks but I'm going to wait. It's completely possible that she's just very manly...and if she is a he I will go as far to visit her in her new home to make sure they aren't roo murderers.
