I recently took the nesting boxes out of the coop because we had 8 boxes for 7 chicks (and at least 3 of those are roosters). Besides that, these nesting boxes are old and rusted through. Being my usual lazy self, I took them out of the coop, but not out of their yard. Now every night when I go to close up the coop, all the chicks are in one box and the rooster is crouched over them. It's just too cute!
What gets me is they choose the one box without pine shavings! lol
