This is what a raccoon can do to wire

REALLY??!!!?? I am [kind of] surprised to hear that. Have you recently lost some to predators?

Cindy (who just watched the news report about a Bobcat living in some neighborhood in Melbourne (FL)!killing cats.

Not recently but I have. I dealt with it. It just seems there are so many posts of sickness and predators that it seems to common.

I've just started with my chics but I've trapped hundreds of coons over the years for people and have never seen that. It almost looks like something bigger(Dog or bear)was trying to get the coon.

I didn't read all six pages but "Wow!" is all I can say.

I've trapped a few coons in one of those traps. Yours looks bigger than mine and maybe that's why mine never got torn up so bad. The coons I got were maybe 30-35 pounds or so. It was last year and if memory serves me correctly they were able to turn around in the cage but that's about all.

I don't know how long they were in the cage but I set the cage at night and went out the next morning to find them. Their pelts are now hanging from my wall and they also made a fine chili. I'm just glad they didn't do that to my trap as getting rid of coons could get pretty expensive that way!

God Bless,

We are working on our run now. Chicks aren't allowed in it yet till it's all done a coon can't get in through the panels. We used a Magnum Kennel from TSC that we used to have for outside dogs and are wrapping chicken wire inside of that. Once we get it all done, I'll post the pics on my BYC page.

yeah to me i looks more likely something tried to get in to get the coon where you live at are there bears wolves big coyote dont know but if that was a coon i would give up on chickens

That is amazing. I have been catching them in a live trap like yours and never seen something like that. Do you live near a golds gym or baseball training camp? Maybe he was licking the stroid bottles or soemthing...none the less I would not want that thing around.
