This is what happens when you keep a goose in the house! *newER pic!*

Well, she is definitely a crazy lady. No more pets for her. I'm glad the goose is getting better. Just be really thankful that she returned the goose. Things could have been worse.

Wow, what a difference.

Recovery is coming along great. She looks better and can hold her wings up a bit longer every day. The only problem- I can't stand her. She's going to be the death of me- I swear I am going to have a heart attack trying to chase her down. She is so freaked out she runs away from eveything and everybody. There are no fenced in areas where they graze and I have a 1/2 acre pen with pools where I put them if I am going somewhere. Everybody else just gets in line and trots right in- not this girl- run away, run away, run away!
I'm afraid she's just ruined

<sigh> hang in there, I know with dogs and cats, it takes a month or more for them to settle in to a new home. One of the little goats I bought 2 months ago *finally* came up to me for a scratch this morning. I don't know how geese process this stuff, and their brains aren't very big, even though they seem pretty smart, but it might take her a little while. it's only been a couple of weeks?
inconvenient for now, for sure, but take a deep breath, it's all probably pretty scary for her, and she hasn't had time to learn the routine and get comfortable yet. if she's only been indoors, just being outside is probably scary, all by itself. she'll probably settle, but it may take a little more time.

I've rescued some extremely fearful dogs and horses, and they do get it, but it takes time and patience and being as calm as can be managed while still getting the necessary things done. good luck with her.

Please don't give up on her. I think she'll come around. I had a fearful pair of Romans's that I adopted and it took them several weeks to become incorporated into the flock. It'll happen - just give it time. She's been isolated and is trying to figure out where she fits in and it must be very scary for her.

Stay with it if you can - you are her greatest hope.

(No Pressure Though)
