This is what you DON'T want to wake up to.......

So Sorry,

This must have been a truely dreadful experience for you.

Thank God you and yours are safe and well.

This is an awful time of year, but Spring is just around the corner I hope.

Best wishes for the future.

Jena.

thanks Buster, I wish it was just a funny thread. We lost so much stuff in that fire, but thank God it didn't spread to the house and we weren't hurt. I still start out the door every morning to feed all the babies in the brooders before it hits me.

That is absolutely terrible. That is horrific! I am so, so, so sorry. In the same aspect, I am grateful it wasn't you and your family.

I am sorry to read this. I hope it all works out and your insurance will take care of you. If not I wonder if we can start a paypal account(we done this on another forum when a members barn burnt killing 12 horses) and people can donate to help you. Even if its only .25 it will help. Maybe the insurance will cover the building and we can all come together to help buy new chicks when your up to it. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

how very very sad for you!

You are so lucky it didn't spread with the wind! And thank goodness all your birds weren't in there!

I am always thinking about what would happen if the house caught fire when I was at work. My cats, and small pets would be gone. The dogs are in the garage when it's really cold/rainy, so they would probably be gone too this time of year. At least my horse is boarded at a place that has a run-in barn.

KristenH,

I am very sorry for what has happened, and I am very glad that it didn't get to your house.

For the past week, what with the cold weather, I have gone on long and loud, in several threads, about the electric, oil filled radiators being so wonderful. I have had one in one of my coops for 4 days. We use them in the house, too. We have no alarms in the coops, and would never hear an alarm if it went off. The radiator in the coop is now unplugged, and is coming out NOW.

I am aware that the radiator heater may not be the cause, but I am not taking any chances.

Thank you for sharing your painful experience, it couldn't have been easy. I wish you and yours the best.
