Wow, that's awful. I sure hope they cover it. I worry about that too. I use heat lamps to keep the water from freezing and I worry about that all the time.

Good Lord, you are safe! Did you lose all those chickies in there? It is possible your oil filled heaters might have so can the electric shortage or fault can do the same damage as well!

Whew! Hopefully your insurance can pay for the replacements!

I don't know about the heater, that's why we chose that particular one because it heated well but didn't get hot. I was always meticulous about dusting it off everyday and all that too. I don't know if a mouse chewed the wire or what. I have always been diligent about fire safety for this very reason because this shed is only like 30ft from my back door. All my incubators and hatchers and brooders and animal care stuff was in this building. THanks to everyone for all the kind words, we are just waiting on the insurance people to come next week.
