Well Mom showed up to pick up kid 45 minutes LATE!!

So I said, "She was quite afraid of the dog." Dog and I stood in rain and then poor dog was locked up for three hours!

Mom says, "Oh well she's afraid of dogs that jump and things."

Her face could not have been more blank. Lights were on - nobody home!

the kid got grape juice all over herself. yes, it was grape but at least it was organic, no sugar added grape. but, real grape so it was still gonna stain. I apologized to mom and she said oh don't worry it'll come out and i was like hey great then she said, "It never occurred to me to get her grape juice."

I thought fear of staining?? so I asked and she said , "No, no reason, I guess I just never thought of it."

So her dd and mine were hiding in dds room classic moms here i don't want to leave stuff - they were playing. So I stood in the doorway and said, "Well, I guess I can tell her mom she wants to stay and she can help you fill the wood box and go collect the eggs."

That kid was outta there like a shot!!

Mom says, "Your kids have chores?!" Um, yes.

The kid seemed sweet overall really I think mom is just a few steps short of a full flight if you get my drift.

Fun thread!

I will ad one kid story. I was talked into being an assistant leader for girl scouts (fun!). Our troop went camping for 3 nights. The second morning I was designated to get our sleepyhead up. All the other girls had made breakfast and were leaving camp. Out of shear desperation I "rolled" the child onto the floor out of her sleeping bag. Kid curled up into a ball an stated she was cold, well, get dressed!

Finally she did manage to get her clothes on.
The next and last day went a bit faster and she was at least out before everyone left.
These were 4th grades.
Later I found out her parents simply dress her in bed and deposit her onto the buss! without waking her.
