This kitten just showed up at my house and now I don't know what to do

The kitten trusts you to be a food source which will turn into it just wanting to be around you. If you don't mind having it around it's a free pet. You could give a bit of plain yogurt if you have it, the diarrhea could be from lack of feed/starting feed. Pumpkin can help firm it up as well. If the diarrhea persists it could have some liver damage if it starts to firm up though it could be from the starvation to being fed change, just like people food changes can cause upset gi tracts, not bad just always offer water. Wetting the food also helps get extra moisture into the kitten. I add water to our cats wet feed so they drink more water to avoid dehydration. You're doing good though, cheeks rubs, chin scratches and pets (rub heat to tail) that kitty looks very sweet and like it could be a good mouser picture he looks lively.

He trusts me completely now I can pet him, hold him he doesn't mind. I dont know how long he has been around but I started to see him 3 days ago. He's been through a lot. I have a dog and he has been chasing him around and stressing him out alot. I've seperated them now though.

I was wrong about him eating kibble he only ate like 4 pieces. I've left his meal with him. It has broth chicken and kibble. Could add rice but he doesn't eat rice. His tummy seems a bit swelled or big and feels hard. wht should I do?

His tummy may be hard and swollen from gorging on food. When something is starved they will eat and eat and eat and eat.. and eat.. afraid that there won't be more, just feed him at certain times give say 1/4cp of food a few times a day if he gobbles it easily increase the amount the next feeding to 1/3cp as say morning and night. We give our cats chicken and rice at times however it's mostly chicken with some rice. Rice can help when they have digestion issues and is ok when sick however it's not a needed item for their diet. Just feed rice in moderation. My vet even suggested a tiny bit of plain rice and chicken when my older cat was having health problems. The other option is to just leave the kibble out 24/7 for him to eat at his pleasure and give goody food (meat scraps) when there is some to use as tasty treats. You're doing everything right so don't stress too much on it. If you have string he'll probably start playing/chasing it, just don't let him eat it. I have rescue that was feral as a kitten and has odd habits, chews plastic (doesn't eat it just chews i've had him xrayed out of concern a few times) and won't eat any kind of raw meat or organ (when I hose the chicken cavity in butchering there are little bits flushed out) and will walk right by it. You'll figure out likes and dislikes through trial and error, some will eat everything others are fussy. My old 15yr old girl likes jalapeno jerky, in her younger days she would hop up cabinets open doors and steal bags of it. A cats purr is addictive though so be careful. Cats cannot control their purr it's their tell when they're happy/content and I find it to be calming personally.

You could try stroking his stomach with a tiny bit of pressure (soft massage), going from chest towards bottom. That's what mother cats do with very young kittens to help them "go". He's old enough not to need that, but it's all I can think of. Could just be bloated from adapting to food. Other than that, I don't know. Hopefully someone else does!

Thank you! I can agree the purring is very cute and addictive 😁
