Is this a pheasant?

never seen one and this little guy just streamed past our property and checked out the chicken coop. Could it be a rogue Pheasant from someone or a wild one? I didn’t think we had them wild here in Western WA. In a fairly large town. Please, enlighten me!:D

ringneck pheasants are considered a “native” species in most states because they have been able to survive in the wild. This guy could be either a member of the wild population or he could have escaped from captivity or an organized hunt. if you would like to find out if pheasants are native species to your area, you could contact fish and wildlife or local conservation officer.
