I'm so proud of myself. I actually went into TSC today and didn't buy any chicks or ducks....but I helped the woman who works for me buy some. ROFL!!!

She left with 18 chicks and 2 ducks.

I only left with 2 magazines and some chick starter.

Aren't you proud of me?!? LOL

Yes I did Mahonri. Thanks. Yesterday all the chicks looked the same, the RIR looked like the pullet Isa's, the BO looked like the cockerel Isa's so I was thinking how will I ever know what is what. Glad I seperated them into brooders in which I knew what was what. I spent many hours just watching them so now I can tell a difference in the different ones. They are all so healthy and doing very well, I am impressed with that hatchery.

I had 2 bantams (one on a nest of 4 RIR e g g s) from Aug last year until Feb. Then a RIR & 2 EE's, then a barred rock, red sex-link, cochin bantam, and as it stands right now 23 chicks of different breeds and ages.........

If someone had told me I would have gone chicken mad I would laugh or maybe cry.

I am laughing soo hard-
at least you have enough room for 100 chicks- I wish -

I can get away with probably 25-30- as they free range -
I started with 6 - lost a coupe have 5- have 5 EGGS and counting the days down for the TSC to get it's chicks in- I even have DH excited

I went to the feed store today and there was a bin of banties (lots of silkies, OEG and cochin) Everything in the bin was a $1 each. I showed restraint and only came home with 3 more. So I have like 21 chicks and there is no way I can keep them all. I will have to get rid of the roosters and probably the hens I like least. I only have a 4'x8' coop.

Oh no! I might be in trouble, just found some blue silkies, bantam cochins and D'Uccles nearby. Didn't even take me 10 seconds and I sent an email.

we need to go to TSC to get feed and wood shavings...

please let me resist buying more assorted pullets!!!! I am going to do my best to resist, but we HAVE to go today, I will fix the chickies their last jar full of feed until this afternoon. didn't realize we went through the bag so quickly. they seem to be cleaning around the feeder more now though. anyways, wish me luck, and I hope I'm not back here saying "I GOT MORE PULLETS!!".

note to self: DO NOT LOOK AT CUTE LITTLE YOUNG FRESH CHICKIES!! STAY AWAY FROM THE HUGE TUBS FULL OF CUTE LITTLE FUZZ BUTTS!! YOU DON'T NEED ANYMORE (right now) SO DON'T BUY ANY UNTIL THE OTHERS GO INTO THE COOP. (trying to self restraint but don't know if it will work)
