Snitches?? Oh please.
What I think is there is still a lot of paranoia about NAIS going on, and NAIS has been hammered down (as it should have been) in many places in the country.
What concerns me the most are folks who are so afraid of getting into trouble, that they don't take advantage of the help that's out there when they do run into difficulties. There seems to be a gross lack of trust now, in the entire country.
My backyard flock has been examined by City Officials twice, and I'm glad they took the time to come here. If there is anything I'm doing with my flock that could harm anyone, I want to know about it so I can remedy the problem asap. My flock passed with flying colors, but that doesn't mean I can just sit back and wallow in the passing colors. It takes daily work, daily vigilence, and a constant monitoring of my birds to keep them healthy. My birds aren't just out there laying eggs for me. If one get's sick, it is found quickly and treated quickly.
Please folks, don't ignore the help that's out there. It's there to keep us all safe.
Of course you should make your own choices about managing your birds, but I have no interest in "help" from "officials." I'll sink or swim without them.
