This was in my hens egg yolk!

What is this??? No signs of worms in any of my birds and I treated my flock in April. Is this a worm??

Thank you. This is nothing to worry about? It was not in the yoke part...it was outside the in the clear part.

It can be common in hens throughout their lives to see meat or blood spots. I have even seen blood in one of my hen’s eggs who eventually stopped laying. Here is an explanation of meat and blood spots in eggs:

I think that would be the chalaza - the device inside the egg that keeps the yolk anchored in place. And yes, it's perfectly safe to eat.
