Hi! It's Day 20 for my Delaware eggs (Thanks Theresa / Polochick!) and already have 10 of 12 out!
There are a few Ameraucana eggs and a Silkie egg in this weeks hatch and they are pipped as well.
I had been testing 'the egg carton method' in the hatcher for the last month or so, but wasn't getting good results.
This week, I went back to just laying the eggs on their side on the wire. Looks like everyone is going to hatch!

I know there are lots of folks that have good results using egg cartons in hatchers, but I musta not been doing it right.

way to go. Good luck with the rest. I just us them from day 18 to hatch. This batch will be the first time I have used them for the whole time. If it is not a good hatch . I'll do what you did. Just lay the eggs on side. So hopefully I get a good hatch.

Hi! Not much to see through the LG viewing window.

Got a black Ameraucana and a white Silkie just popped out. Oh I forgot, there is a blue Cuckoo green-egger egg in there too.

I don't know why the egg carton method didn't work for me. I took styro cartons and cut out the bottoms and most of the sides --- leaving just enough to keep the eggs 'up right'. I adjusted the temp so it was 101.5 at egg height. It was frustrating seeing a % of the eggs pip and quit in the cartons.
I'll get more pics when hatch is done.

When you lay them on their side..do you still have to turn them a few times a day?

Thats a crowded incubator, congrats!
Mind if I ask? what is the water bottle for?

Not during lockdown. They are orienting themselves.

I always lay mine on their sides.

Not that I have had great successes so far, but I did get almost a 100% hatch from Green Family Farms Buff Orpingtons last summer.
