Yep, it is going to so be prepared. The video is battery hens and sure makes me appreciate that a lot of chickens are NOT living this way but at the same time the shame I feel that our industrial livestock is treated this way and it is allowed.

Not worth .99 cent eggs in my book.

When I got my first lot of rescued ex-battery hens I cried and wrote a poem, on Saturday I picked up my second lot of 40 hens, in December I pick up another 50, if anyone can help these poor poor birds please do it. I am a huge supporter of the Battery Hen Welfare trust here in the Uk.... it is no mean feat getting them back to full health and feathered again, and the wonder of their little faces when they first walk on straw and grass is a marvel to behold. No hen should have to live as these do, sadly it will always be, but if here are are enough people to take them on when they have outlived their battery life (72 weeks old) please do, they are a blessing in disguise. I for one adore all my battery girls.....My Fluffy Butts reign supreme............ they will live their life out here with me.... in "eggtirement" once they finally finish laying all together......

Here's another, I put these links on my facebook page.

While my intent isn't to ruin anyone's day I think we need to get the word out. This is world wide.

EC you are one cool lady!

I'm so glad we've gotten into raising our own! Now if they would just start laying....

EC-you do rock-do you have a link for the U.S. rescue? Is there one?
Birch-the second one had me bawling-that's disgusting!

Poor chookies ....
I can't imagine what it must feel like to live with no heart ...sad... how can peaple treat any animal in that manner.

I just watched that , and i am horrified. If i had the space, i would buy a whole farm of broilers and free range them.
Did you see when they were putting the chicks on convayer belts?
