Well tomorrow those eggs will go in the incubator, I have my little Styrofoam incubator turned on right now so it can regulate the temperature...What temp. should I use again? Is it like 95 deg or 100? The incubator information said for most eggs you should incubate at 100 deg but I think most use like 90 deg or somewhere in between? I will also candle those eggs tomorrow too. I hope something good comes out of this.

top of egg 101 for incubators with out fan......peahen will lay in the same nest, maybe the reason she quit setting, the other peahen chased her off the nest. I have even seen some set side by side.

So another peahen could have broken her egg? Ice is the dominant peahen though, but could my two year old peacock have done it? He was very intent on bothering her all the time on the nest and yesterday I caught him jump in the box with her and I made him get out. Okay 101 got it...Now to set my incubator to that thanks soo much deerman!

Thanks, at least it is still early in the breeding season so anything could happen. I need to just stop thinking about this though, because last year when I thought about the loss of my pea eggs last year it drove me crazy and I never wanted to see another peafowl egg again, well until this year...No mater what I can't say no to more peafowl eggs, even with all the trouble they bring.

My best guess is that the other peahen chased her off, although she is the dominate peahen, she could have been chased.
If she lays in the dog houses in the dog kennel next time try locking her in the dog kennel. That might help.

This is why I said incubate the first and second clutch because you never know what might happen it isn't about how many eggs or chicks you get. Just because you get 20 eggs don't mean all will hatch it would be nice but it will not happen.

"I am not interested in getting the most eggs and peachicks I can get".

O gee, just reading your post makes me nervous & I don't even have to worry about this until NEXT year!

Sending positive hatching vibes your way & do please keep updating us. I'm interested in knowing how this turns out.
