This year's eggs Update:Damsel on nest

So glad ya are having fun with your pea.
Ya know it will be ok on the ground as long as ya are watchen it.
What i learned is they will sometimes get on a spree where they will swallow just about anything ,poo, shavings etc even though they got the best variety of diet, so i can see why they could catch something from other birds but you only have peas so i would have fun with it on the ground, plus it will learn to stay around allot closer if you start it now.

Yeah the darn thing was trying to eat anything and I kept trying to point out little bugs for it to eat but it was more interested in the little pieces of bark. All my peafowl are at my grandma's 2 miles away and we are keeping the peachick here so we don't have to worry about it getting into peafowl poop. What age should I try introducing it to the other peafowl? I won't leave it in there I will just show it to the others but I don't want this peachick to be socially awkward with its own kind because it might think it is a human.

The pen was looking all nice after I put fresh towels on the floor but the peachick has already jumped in the food and now food is everywhere. A few hours ago it almost flew out of the pen it was only an inch from the top, we keep a sheet over the pen at night so if it does get really good at flying it can't fly out when we aren't there. When I don't want the peachick crying for me I sometimes put the sheet over the side of the pen that I am near and then it can't see me. This also calms the dog down more so she stops scratching at
the pen.

Edit:
frenchblackcopper, I am no cameo expert since I don't have any but I think that still is a cameo...DM Farm didn't say it wasn't a cameo it just isn't blackshoulder so you still probably have a cameo.

Last summer my one and only chick peeped nonstop the three to gather that have hatched this summer have a language all their own and it isn't real loud. You are having such a good time with it he obviously thinks you're Mom.

For now we are calling the peachick Peep because that is what my dad started calling it. The name will change once we know if it is a girl or a boy.

I took more pictures today when I took Peep out of the playpen. Peep preens a lot, I wasn't sure if that was something they had to be taught to do or not but Peep does it a lot which is good. I can see the tiny scale on Peep were their spurs come out at. I thought that was kinda interesting that you can see that place on their leg already.

Well here are some pictures!

Peep has gotten better at eating greens. I put them in a cauldron just to be silly.

This one is a little fuzzy, but I wanted to show Peep displaying. It is hard to tell from the pictures but when Peep was displaying he/she would peck my finger and display with his/her wings down. I know both males and females display but we all can't keep from thinking Peep is a boy.

Peep is displaying with that little small tail.

Today was the second time the peachick has been outside. I let the peachick down to run after me for exercise. We went into to the front garden for some pictures.
