Go Thor. I did nt' know you needed a certificate to transport birds acrossed state lines.

Shoot yeah...depends on the state you are going to as well...You cannot take them through California at all for example...they are a bunch of real Pitas. You have to have NPIP paperwork, a vet health certificate etc etc.

Is there someone at the border to check? Does this apply to eggs? What about shipping chicks or grown birds? Where can I find the rules for each state?

Check the agriculture laws for each state by searching for "poultry requirements and law in kentucky" or wherever...

Kentucky...it is for chicks, grown birds and hatching eggs....the hatcheries that are NPIP certified can ship in easily. They require NPIP testing for all coming in.
