Those of you who are in city limits and cannot own roos what do you do

the only reason you need a roo is to hatch. i live in city limits and cannot have a roo, which is fine with me cuz i wants eggs to eat and the chickens for a pet. if you want to hatch, why not call a local farm to see if you canhave some sperm from one of there roos. there's a thread here with a video showing how to do it. does that answer your question? or am i totally off.

If you can't have a rooster how would you get eggs that hatch? Or are you planning on getting eggs to hatch out? If that is the case, craigslist, free cycle or advertise here...

Or instead of eggs you can get chicks and just get pullets...

Sorry maybe I didn't make my self very clear...LOL. I'm distracted it's my DD's first day of preschool.....

I planning on purchasing eggs for hatching from CL or local farmers. My problem is I'm not allowed to have roos. So if one hatches than I'll have to get rid of him

My DD wants to see chickens hatch. She's been bothering me for a few weeks now.

As soon as you know it is a roo, you can either raise him for food (before he crows in the spring when everyone got their windows up) or give him away to a pet home.

I have a roo with my girls but that would be the ONLY time I can have them. He would be here from Nov to March and then I would give him away to new home or to a 4H kid.

some of us are outlaws...

....praying that the long arm of the law doesn't ever arrive.
