We found our gamebirds, who fly really well, were laying in the hayloft. Only because DH had to go up there to dump some hay for the horses.

I have a hen doing that too... and like yours, mine have great nesting boxes filled with pine shavings. Well I finally found where she was laying and it was in the shavings bag in the barn! Go figure

I tightly rolled up the top of the bag and put something on it so she would stop. Guess where I found her egg yesterday... YEP, she reopened the bag and layed her egg in it. I guess she only wants to lay on brand new shavings.
