Did you know that using egg whites on a burn stops the burn? I read an article a friend of mine sent me stating that egg whites are a natural collagen. For minor burns first run or spray cold water over affected area until the heat is reduced and stops burning the layers of skin, then apply egg whites. As egg whites dry keep adding layer after layer for about an hour. Pain should subside and stop the burn from penetrating. If burn is substantial use till paramedics arrive. This treatment for burns is in the teaching for beginner firemen.

Wow.. yeah... that is totally not true and something people shouldn't be taking as advice. Neither is butter or oil a good idea for a burn. For a small burn, cold water and then some ointment... for a larger one, the ER and then prescription ointment. The end.

Um no........... running under cold water for an extended period is what the Red Cross as well as most basic first aid. Firemen, LEO's and first responders get this..... the only good thing an egg is good for in an emergency is plugging a leaky radiator.

I would think the egg white would coat the skin and hold in the heat/burn.... same thing with butter..
I would not do this. Just my opinion.
Running under cold water and getting to a DR is the best thing to do...IMO

Hmm....My apologies. Thought there was some truth to that. Made sense to me. Why would they train firemen with this? Guess I'll pass this back to my friend.
