I just want to say, "thanks for the information". I have ducks about 5 months old and have just been feeding them some lettuce I had for a treat, but had no idea about what else to give them. I ran right to the store to buy a bag of frozen peas. The ducks (which up to this point have been stand offish) now come running when they see me. What a 180!! One is even brave enough to let me touch her a bit.
My ducks want nothing to do with peas, although I only tried giving them thawed ones and not frozen ones. They wouldn't touch them. Maybe I'll try some frozen ones and see what happens. They do love yellow squash, though.
When I first heard of giivng peas to my ducks they were older and had never eaten them before, but it didn't take long till they found they loved them. Frozen. thawed cooked it doesn't matter.
When I first gave my ducks peas, only one would get near them. Now all six practically go into a frenzy eating them. I have to spread them (the peas) out so they don't hurt each other trying to get their fair share.
