Thoughts on gender

I'm no expert, but I'm thinking this one might be a rooster? Also, I noticed he's missing feathers towards the lower back. Does anyone know why? I'll try to post a pic.

Age? Most likely a cockerel. he may just be in molt.

Definitely a little male. Males are classically slower to feather than females, that may be the difference you're seeing. I'd check him over for mites, just to be on the safe side.
