I am sorry you feel that way. We have a system with checks and balances. We've had bad presidents and we seem to survive. At this point in our history, I hope he can inspire positive changes over time that bring you out of mourning.

If we're discussing the inaugeration solely than I have but one thing to point out ... 2 million people and only 5000 porta potties

Ouch!!

Chicken lady, to be honest politics and religion are always a PITA in any forum. This should have never been brought here, there are plenty of political forums and blogs to post on. This site is about the love of pets and animals particularly chickens and other fowl, IMHO. Unless laws are passed by politicians that affect us I really only see a bad outcome for this thread. I hope I am wrong.

But seeing as it is here, my 2 cents are no matter who was elected this is a gawdy spectacle. And I would be ashamed to make a point to his race as his race should have never mattered in his election. And I am mixed race.

I think that all the hype has gone way overboard about him. I personally did not vote for him, but you cannot go 24 hours without a huge story on the news or the internet about him.

I also think that the amount of money they are spending on the inaugeration is ridiculous considering the state of our Nation right now.

and IF he REALLY cared about how broke our country is...he would tell Americans..."thank you, but i'd rather see this money go to...feeding hungry children.....education...etc...."....not that ANY president has ever said that...but still, with our economy the way it is now....

To us it is a dark, dark day, because of what he is and what he stands for. He is an absolute socialist, but few believe it.

I guess all republics die eventually, but it's usually not suicide. We'll be avoiding every bit of radio and TV news about it and just trying to think about the good things.

I work for a motorcoach company in central North Carolina. We have 52 coaches up in Washington, DC as we speak.

We have worked for months preparing for this week. At this point everything is well planed and running smoothly. The Metro is handling the crowds as well as can be expected. The potty situation is kinda crazy. Food is a major concern as well. How are they going to feed the masses?

We were told to tell our people to bring their own food with them on Tuesday. Hopefully they can feed everyone and have somewhere for them to potty.

I did not vot for Obama. However I will support him as my President. I hope things get worked out soon. The country is in a mess at the moment.

We were promised change, I have yet to see glimpse of it. A nice change would have been a quiet ceremony instead of the wasteful hoopla. This is not England after all and he is not a king. A real change would have a man who just came in and did his job like the rest of us do everyday.
