I find this interesting that today, of all days there is a discussion like this. MLK stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial just so that someone like Obama could become our President.

I was there that day. Not that I remember it, I was in a stroller at the time, but my parents thought it was important enough that I and my brothers and sister were there. I would be there tomorrow if I had the money to do so.

Tomorrow is an important day in our history as a nation. No one knows where we will go from here. Where we go can't be any worse than things have been in the past. We've been through resession, depression, fall of the stock market, fear of nuclear anilation, division of the country because of beliefs on slavery, attacked on our own soil (twice!) on and on and on.

We've survived it all. We will survive this too

I dissagree. I did not vote for Obama, I did not think him the right man for the job. As the elected president I will support him as a citizen and a veteran. My second grade grandaughter whose father happens to be an African American is very excited to have a black president. She thinks EVERYONE should vote for him. Who am I to argue with her?

See,,RIGHT THERE IS THE PROBLEM!.....a second grader CERTANILY has no clue whart makes a GOOD president....again..it WAS based on his color...sorry..its the truth....like it or not..it is what it is..

....people will soon see what what he's all about whatever color he is.....

Tacky, I am not upset but the moderator made a very clear message. No way did I name call make any threats or do any bad behavior, but just because I don't buy into this stuff(have a better word but don't want to get into trouble again) I get a warning from a moderator.

Sorry, I cannot even imagine supporting this man as MY president. We are pretty much polar opposites, I won't fall under the Obama fan club in my lifetime. After these 4 or God forbid 8 yrs MY America will be unrecognizable.

When I say polar opposites, I mean our beliefs, oppinions, values. Don't care if he is green.

Again another poster relating this to a black/white issue(MLK). Am I the only one that sees the danger here? Will we next elect Arnold because he has cool accent?

Voting for Obama because he is black(actually white too) means not voting for McCain because he is white. This is just so wrong and a setback for us becoming a united country where no one sees race when looking at color. If you must elect a person on just race elect a native american this land you call America was stolen from us.
